If a medical condition prevents you from wearing dress shoes – see your Section Leader. Our desire is to have a unified look. Although each of you want to look your best, the choir as a whole will look best if we have a unified look. Your Section Leader has the authority to have you not perform if you are not in compliance with the dress code. Of course, we would like everyone to perform, so please check with your section leader well in advance of performance if you have any questions.

If you have trouble locating any of the above items, some possible sources include the many local Thrift Stores. Also, your Section Leader may be aware of other sources. Sometimes choristers have extra items they can loan for performance. Your Section Leader can help you find these sources.

We want all choristers to perform with us, so be sure you are prepared with the necessary and appropriate items of dress well before time to perform.

Chorister Creed

  1. Accept the responsibility of learning the music. There may be 2 or 3 section rehearsals.
  2. Not miss more than three (3) rehearsals. Be in his or her seat, ready to begin at rehearsal starting time. Stay for the entire rehearsal.
  3. If you will not be able to attend a rehearsal, please call your section leader and inform them of your absence.
  4. Be attentive and not engage in idle chatter or disruptive behavior when not singing.
  5. Bring and use a pencil only (no pens or hi-lighters) to mark breathing, pronunciations, phrasing, dynamics, etc. in the music.
  6. Hold music so he or she can watch the conductor on all entrances, cut-offs, dynamic variations, tempo changes, etc. Rehearse as if we are performing.
  7. Listen constantly to other parts and to neighboring singers for balance and harmony.
  8. Comply with chosen performance dress code – please!
  9. Enjoy singing!!!
