John is a mostly retired professional chaplain and clinical educator. His career includes a decade of service as parish pastor; 12 years as a non-profit organizational and program consultant; a hospital/hospice chaplain and was a director of spiritual care services for Kaiser Permanente in Northern California. John is a graduate of The Pacific School of Religion/Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley and holds a Master of Divinity and Doctor of Theology degrees and has extended graduate studies in Social & Environmental Ethics. He still works some as founding Director of The Pacific Institute for Essential Conversations. John lives with his wife Nancy in Nevada City.
